Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree

The RN-BSN program is designed for practicing professional nurses looking to advance in their careers. As nurses, our RN-BSN students already have a strong educational foundation in providing competent patient care. We build upon that foundation, expanding your knowledge and skills into areas such as nursing philosophy, theory, ethics, diversity, health promotion, leadership, community health nursing, health policy, comprehensive health assessment, and research. The flexibility of the online RN-BSN lets you take the next step in career and educational development, while allowing you to continue working full- or part-time as a nurse. The program can be completed in just 3 semesters (full-time) or 5 semesters (part-time). The program includes an onsite residency requirement for the final semester, in which students work with a RN-BSN in the field (called a preceptor), gaining hands-on leadership and management experience. Your Brenau instructor will help you select a clinical setting and preceptor near where you live that best suits your career plans. Preceptors are usually directors, managers, or educators, and clinical facilities range from hospitals to public health centers to educational settings.
